The South Baton Rouge Church of Christ has developed a warm and special relationship with a large number of individuals in the Chinese community in Baton Rouge over the last fifteen years. The influx of students and scholars from Mainland China over these years to Louisiana State University has allowed the church to work more and more with these visitors to our land.

Areas of service which the church now provides for the Chinese students, scholars, and their families include such things as used furniture, American host families, one-on-one English Bible studies, help with moving, assistance in buying cars, weekly shopping tours, and a host of other practical helps.

The Chinese ministry at South has several Chinese Bible study groups that meet each week. On Friday evenings we have one Mandarin Bible study group that meets at the student center and two English Bible study groups that meet in the home. We also have a Mandarin Bible study for Chinese seniors that meets every Tuesday night at the student center. On Sunday mornings we have a special Chinese Bible class in conjunction with the church's Sunday school program. Special events through the year are hosted for the Chinese community, including welcome parties, host family dinners, special seminars, annual retreats, and separate Chinese worship services once a month.

The Chinese Christian Fellowship is a place for you to find a loving group of people who really care about you. We invite you to come and join our group. Come join the fun. Come see what makes the Christian life so special. Come find the answers to life.

Meet our Chinese Minister

David Finch moved to Baton Rouge to help us better minister to the needs of the Chinese students at LSU. David and his family came to us from Taipei, Taiwan. The Finch family spent a total of 11 ½ years living in Taiwan ministering to the Chinese people. Over the years they have grown to love both the Chinese people and the Chinese culture. Both David and Vicky, as well are their oldest daughter Mandy, speak fluent Chinese. The Finches have three children: Mandy, Mark, and Katie.

David has an office very near to the campus in our Christian Student Center at 151 W. Parker Blvd. (by the LSU South Gate). We welcome you to stop in to visit with him. In David's own words, "Please stop in for a cup of Chinese tea."

If you have any needs that we can help you with, please don't hesitate to give David a call at: (225) 761-0380 or email him..
