Prison ministry has been a focus of this church since its beginning.

Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women (LCIW)

Volunteers from the church go twice a week (Sun. & Tues.) to share hope with the hopeless. In addition to teaching inmates how to become Christians, the workers strengthen the inmates who have become Christians and are attempting to live faithfully while in difficult circumstances. Many of the inmates are enrolled in a Bible Correspondence course that is graded by members of this church. For more information contact Glenda Tate at 324-7601.

Hunt Correctional Institute (Hunt)

Each Sunday morning and Wednesday evening Christians from South carry the message of Christ to Hunt. Also, the first Sunday of every month an evening service is provided. We have a team of nearly 20 members presently participating in this great effort. Our volunteers are male due to the gender of the population at Hunt. For more information call Albert Samuels.
